It covers Coco, Playa Ocotal, Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste, Playa Panamá and the Papagayo Peninsula. That Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste is the beach north of Coco, not the beach of the same name near Jacó.
The site is part of the EasyCostaRica network of Costa Rica travel guides. Our goal is simple: help you choose where to stay, find the beaches that suit you and plan your days on the water and inland.
Who the guides are for
We write for couples, families, first-time visitors and anyone looking for a beach base in Guanacaste. The guides use plain language and short sections, so you can find what you need on your phone.
Editorial policy
Official sources first. We build each guide from official and public sources wherever they exist. These include the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT), the Guanacaste Conservation Area (ACG), the national fisheries institute (INCOPESCA), the immigration agency (DGME), the National Meteorological Institute (IMN), the Municipality of Carrillo and Guanacaste Airport. Where sources disagree, we leave out the detail rather than guess.
Reviewed dates. Each guide shows the month it was last reviewed. Rules, schedules and transport options change, so we name the source for those facts and suggest you confirm them before you travel.
No invented experiences. Our guides never describe a stay, meal or tour as a personal experience. We describe places and options from sources, not from claimed visits.
No ratings or prices. We don't publish star ratings, rankings or prices. Rates change daily, so you'll see current prices on the booking site you choose.
